The NFL Draft

Sharrif Floyd #73
1st Round
I believe that the 49ers should select DT Sharrif Floyd from the University of Florida in the first round of the NFL Draft. I think he will be selected early so the 49ers should not waste any time making their move. They should trade up in the draft picks to try to ensure the pick. He would be an essential addition to the defensive line to help pressure the quarterbacks of opposing offenses. With 33 year old veteran niner defensive lineman Justin Smith injuring his arm in the late season of last year. Floyd can develope to become a great replacement for when smith decides to retire. It will be sad to see smith go! Though all good things must come to an end. With the guidance of smith, floyd can become a terror for opposing offenses and become a versitle threat along with possible teammate Aldon Smith who is a natural Beast.

Off The Field

Vernon Davis
Life Without The Helmet
Vernon's Jamba Juice in Santa Clara, CA

San Francisco 49ers star Tight-End, Vernon Davis is now the proud owner of an existing Jamba Juice located in Santa Clara, with two more nearby outlets on the way. The Jamba Juice is  located at 3942 Rivermark Plaza in Santa Clara. Davis stated that his role in his new franchise is basically to provide support and and “to make sure the day-to-day is ran right.” Vernon wants to promote a healthy diet in which he highly believes in. He stated on why he decided to become a Jamba Juice franchise owner, “I thought it’d be a perfect fit for me, and everything I believe in. I believe in a healthy lifestyle and being active, as well as putting the right things in your body. Everything I believe in is in the same thing Jamba Juice believes in.” So the next time you're in Santa Clara, take the time to buy a smoothie at vernon davis's jamba juice. I now I will be making a trip there in the future. Raven fans are welcome to visit but will most likely be shown the way out as soon as they walk in.

A Secondary Addition

Nnamdi Asomugha
THE EAGLE'S ARRIVAL
The latest addition to the 49ers is cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha who was acquired in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. The cornerback has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, Asomugha will earn $1.35 million in base salary with a chance to earn an additional $1.65 million in incentives. Asomugha did considerably bad while on the eagles though the whole eagle defense performed horrible last season. His press-man coverage skill set was never ideally suited to the "Wide Nine" scheme prevalent in Philadelphia over the past two seasons. The 31-year-old bottomed out by allowing an eye-popping 120.6 passer rating on throws in his territory last season, according to Pro Football Focus. Which I believe resulted in a lost of confidence in his abilities. That can really bring down an athletes ability to perform to their full capabilities. With him joining the elite 49ers strong-willed defense, he is sure to gain back his confidence and perform to the high standards he is known to play with.

The Departure

Dashon Goldson #38 Intercepting the ball
The former 49ers 2012 first-team All-Pro saftey Dashon Goldson has signed a five-year deal $41.25M contract with Tampa Bay.Known as a hard-hitting enforcer in the 49ers' secondary, Goldson also has the gift for the turnover. Intercepting 14 passes over the past four seasons. He has a career total of 346 tackles, 14 interceptions, 3 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles. In 2012, after having been franchised tagged by the niners, Goldson was part of a pass defense that ranked fourth overall in the NFL. Allowing only 200.2 passing yards per game. The 49ers also ranked first in the league by allowing 10.31 passing yards per completion and second with 5.13 passing yards allowed per attempt.

Saftey-Craig Dahl #43

The Replacement
Goldson's departure puts a huge weakness in the 49ers secondary. Though as of now the niners have signed saftey Craig Dahl for a contract of 3 years/$5.21million to hopefully fill the hole left by goldson. Dahl said, his visit to San Francisco was so positive he wanted to sign as soon as he could "to get things rolling." He is eager to play in a secondary with hard-hitting saftey Donte Whitner.

Offseason:Off to a Good Start

WR Anquan Boldin
The San Francisco 49ers have aquired WR Anquan Boldin in a trade with the Ravens. He will be a perfect fit to the weapon options for the offense and for young and talented QB Colin Kapernick. Boldin doesn't want anything preventing him from settling in quickly, and getting on the same page with his quarterback is very key to a great quarterback to reciever relation. He called up Kapernick to get a feel of him and will continue to call him to build their relationship."That's very important for a quarterback and receiver ... it doesn't just happen overnight," Boldin said. "Whenever you see a quarterback and receiver on the same page, that means they've spent time together." Boldin is known for being a physical reciever who quarterbacks can rely on when in tough game situations. As a niner fan the suspense of him stepping on the field with his capabilities is unbearable. His niner debut will not be an event you want to miss.
